Joyable
I have come across this application called Joyable. This is an online tool for helping people overcome their Social Anxiety. This is the first tool I have come across online that is well designed and modern.
Joyable works pretty much like counselling through the Internet. They offer a 12-week program teaching the fundamentals of CBT to help reduce anxiety and understand and control your triggers. They also get you to challenge your anxiety by thinking about anxious situations and getting you to confront them.
This is very much an alternative to counselling, yet it doesn’t feel like it is a self-help guide. For one once you sign up you are dedicated coach, this is someone who you can talk too through text, email or phone call. I’m looking at this like counselling when you want and need.
The thing I like about this concept is that you can approach this at your own pace. I have found that people are often very scared of the thought of counselling, which is why they don’t go when it is often the best option. With this online tool you have room to breathe, you are receiving counselling, but in a more flexible manner.
I am going to continue my research into this application and hopefully can pull out some interesting insights
